The Third Annual North Babylon Chamber of Commerce street fair recently concluded.  I wish to thank all those that gave of their time to get it off the ground and later help out throughout the day keeping things running.  A shout out to Rich Irizarry for doing so much behind the scene work to get us to the starting point.  To Diane DeLuca, Judy Keller, Shari Sugarman, Carol Raynor Neidig, Jefferson Sanchez, Diana Simulcik, Mike and Anne Vittorio and Kathy Cassidy.  In addition, the Chamber wishes to thank the members of the North Babylon High School – Students for a Better World for donating their time throughout the day in helping the Chamber set up, keep us clean and assisting in closing the fair.

Overall, after two years of rain, yesterday proved to be a good day.  The weather was with us.  The Chamber elected Town Councilman Terence McSweeny as its first Grand Marshal.  Many of the residence of North Babylon were on hand to congratulate Terence on being the First Grand Marshal.  The Dance School keep everyone entertained throughout day with their lively steps and the little ones seemed to enjoy the Pumpkin Patch.

The Chamber will be hosting its monthly General Meeting on Monday, October 22 at 7 p.m. at Nonna Bella’s.  The General Meetings are open to the public.  This month our Guest Speaker will be New York State Assemblyman Andrew P. Raia who represents North Babylon’s 22nd District.  Mr. Raia will up date us on matters of importance being discussed in Albany.

The Chamber will shortly commence its Food Drive and its Holiday – Adopt a Family so keep an eye peeled for further announcements.

Yours in business,

Garrett P. Simulcik, Sr.
