Hoping your summer was enjoyable. It felt strange in that the Chamber was not in session for July and August. This is not to say we stopped working. Well, the summer is about over and it’s time to roll up the sleeves and get back to our task at hand.

First, I would like to make mention of some new members and those members that decided to remain with us after there Maptoon’s membership expired. They are; Ken Passante of The Shack, Alaaeldin Pediatrics, P.C., Ascension Lutheran Church – Valerie Lukens, All Island Sheet Metal, Inc. – Carol, Joe Riscica of Joe Riscica’s Auto Repair, Shannon Macleod, of Shannon Macleod, P.C. , Lauren Ring, Pampered Chef – Phyllis Capraco, Long Island Truck Parts, Inc. Robert McIntosh and Paul D’Arienzo of State Farm. This currently brings our membership to 75.

Our meeting venue has now changed as Applebee’s has closed its doors. The owner of Nonna Bella’s (Garrett), no relationship, has opened his doors and will be putting together a great menu for those wishing to have dinner at our meeting. Nonna Bella’s is located at 765 Deer Park Avenue, at the corner of Veronica Lane and Deer Park Avenue. It will be best to park in the rear of the building, as there is plenty of parking and a separate entrance into meeting room.

Our Guest Speaker this month is Suffolk County Police Chief, Tim Sini. He will speak on a variety of topics starting at 7 p.m. So as not to miss what Mr. Sini has to say, please be on time.

The North Babylon Chamber Fall Festival will shortly be upon us. The Fair will be held on Sunday, October 8 between Stone Avenue and Veronica Lane, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There is a reduced rate for Chamber members wishing to set up booth at the fair. We will need as many of our members on hand to help make this a successful event. If you can spare some time your assistance will be greatly appreciated. As the saying goes “many hands make for easy work.”

Hoping to see everyone at the September meeting and join in on the Street Fair.

Yours in business,

Garrett Simulcik, Sr.
