A reminder to all, our February General Meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 26 at 7 p.m. at Nonna Bella’s Restaurant.  Members and non-members are welcome to join in.  This month our guest Speaker will be newly appointed Town Councilman, Terrance Mc Sweeny.

The Chamber’s Board was finally able to meet on February 12 and turned its attention into planning 2018.  The following has been scheduled so place the dates in  your calendar and come to help the Chamber – the Spring Cleanup of our Adopt-a-Highway (Weeks Road) and cleanup and planting of the Chamber Corner (Belmont Avenue and Hubbard’s Path).  We are also scheduled to host our Third Annual Street Fair on Sunday, October 7.  We are also looking to have the American Red Cross mobile truck for a Blood Drive.  Keep in mind that the street fair acts not only as a fund raiser, it is also an avenue where our membership can promote their own businesses to the Community.

Other items which are on the planning board are: hosting a Comedy Club fund raiser, the scheduling of a bus tour in the fall of some of the Long Island wineries.  Community Music fair at Phelps Lane as well as our third annual High School Scholarships which the Chamber is looking to donate a plaque to the High School listing the names of the scholarship recipients.

We will be working on getting our restaurant establishment to host a Restaurant Week and possible Wine Tasting at the North Babylon Wine and Spirits.

As the year moves forward we are also going to have an Adopt-A-Family for Thanksgiving and Christmas and a Toy Drive with the collections going to the North Babylon Food Pantry.

So keep an eye out for the dates as they are scheduled.  This is all about supporting our local businesses by Shopping Locally.

Yours in business,

Garrett P. Simulcik, Sr
