The months of May and June are shaping up to be a busy time of year. By the time this is published members of this Chamber will have participated in the St. Paul’s Garden Dedication (May 14th), the first annual Super Smash Brothers game day – run by Chamber Member Tim Rissmiller of Tim Tek at St. Paul’s Reformed Church (May 15th), the Lion’s Annual Street Fair (May 22nd).
This month’s General Meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 23 at Applebee’s. Networking hour will start at 6 p.m. and the General Meeting will start at 7 p.m. Membership Speaker will be Matt Konig of Amsoil Aggrand Products. You will be pleasantly surprised on what he has to say about several of his company’s products.
Further scheduled for May 25th is the North Babylon High School Scholarship Night – starting at 7:30 p.m. The Chamber will be giving it first scholarships to three graduating students. On Saturday, May 28, we are asking for assistance in putting in a retaining wall and preparation of the site at Belmont Avenue and Hubbard’s Path. This corner has been adopted under the Town of Babylon’s Adopt-A-Spot and will proudly display a beautiful sign which will have “North Babylon Welcomes You – Maintained by the North Babylon Chamber of Commerce.”
Additional assistance will be needed the following Saturday when Chamber Member Stable Garden Center will be delivering the beautiful scrubs that they helped plan for this corner. Once completed, the corner will add to the beatification of North Babylon. The Town will host a Dedication Ceremony sometime during the month of June. Once it has been scheduled, notice will be given to our members.
Just in case you thought that the activities at this point would be slowing down, the Chamber is looking for its members to participate in the North Babylon Annual Memorial Day Parade. It is scheduled on Monday, May 30 and will start at 10 a.m. from the shopping center near Tower Flowers and makes its way to Phelps Lane Memorial Park, where the various Community Organizations pay honor and tribute to those that gave their lives to allow us to keep the freedom’s we enjoy today. I ask that you give a few hours and walk beside the North Babylon Chamber Banner and let the residents of North Babylon see who we are. Please wear your business attire.
In addition, on Monday, June 13 Tim Rissmiller of Tim Tek has put together another fun filled evening – Wine Glasses Paint Night at Mangia Pizza in North Babylon. Tim will have further details at our May 23 meeting.
