APRIL FROM THE PRESIDENT
As we enter our third year of operation I feel that the Chamber is starting to make an impact in the North Babylon Business Community. An ad has been placed in April Issue of South Bay Neighbors newspaper congratulating the membership of our Chamber
On Saturday, April 14, the Chamber assisted in the Grand Opening ribbon cutting ceremony of L.A. Fitness in North Babylon. The General Manager (Giuseppe), along with County and Town Officials, the North Babylon Chamber of Commerce, local Civic Associations and Community Residents received a firsthand tour of the facilities.
This month’s General Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Nonna Bella’s on Deer Park Avenue and it is open to the General Public. You need not be a member to attend. Our Guest Speaker this month will be Florence Finley, who is the Director of Babylon’s Town Beautification office. Florence is an energetic individual who is constantly working with every organization in the Town of Babylon to see that our Town is a place where we can proudly say, “THIS IS OUR HOME.”
Looking ahead, the North Babylon Chamber will be hosting its Third Annual Street Fair, on Sunday, October 7.
Before that, the Chamber will be co-hosting along with North Babylon Civic Associations two fee music nights. Recently, Civic Association Leaders and the Chamber met to plan this event. It is hoped that on Saturday, July 14 and Saturday, August 18, the event will take place on the stage behind the mansion at Phelps Lane. So save the dates and come out and hear some great music.
Another idea that has been on and off the planning board seems to be taking hold. Again, the Chamber along with the local Civic Associations and with the assistance of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce will be looking to schedule a St. Patrick’s Day Parade along Deer Park Avenue, between Deer Park and North Babylon. In case you are not aware, the Town of Babylon does not have any St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Let us be the first.
Wishing everyone a Happy Spring, if it ever comes.
Yours in Business
Garrett P. Simulcik, Sr.
President of the North Babylon Chamber of Commerce
